This month, we highlight the advances, challenges and concrete actions taken by our community to build a more inclusive technology ecosystem. Let’s dive into this inspiring news together! <\/p>\n\n

Where are we now? Women and technology in Quebec <\/h2>\n\n

Quebec has an abundance of female technology talent, but their presence in the sector is still too marginal: they represent only 20% of the workforce in tech companies. Fortunately, promising initiatives are emerging. <\/p>\n\n

The Association qu\u00e9b\u00e9coise des technologies (AQT), among others, is making concrete efforts to build more inclusive environments, equipping organizations with awareness programs and fair recruitment practices.<\/p>\n\n

A recent study by Printemps num\u00e9rique also highlights a gendered digital divide that sets in from childhood. To remedy this, a White Paper has been published, offering concrete ways to support girls in their careers in science and technology: adapted resources, inspiring female role models, and tools to dare to project themselves into careers still too often perceived as masculine. <\/p>\n\n

These actions lay the foundations for a real cultural change. It’s a step towards a more diverse and equitable digital ecosystem. <\/p>\n\n

A look back at the premiere of the documentary “Femmes en Tech, et alors?<\/h2>\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n

On March 28, DigiWomen had the honor of premiering its very first documentary, Femmes en Tech, et alors?<\/em> at the National Bank of Canada in Montreal.<\/p>\n\n

The event brought together almost 300 participants from the worlds of technology, academia and business, all united around the same goal: to advance the position of women in the digital sector.<\/p>\n\n

The documentary aptly explores the realities faced by women in technology through a series of powerful testimonials. The voices of professionals are heard, as they authentically share the invisible barriers they have had to overcome. <\/p>\n\n

The screening was followed by speeches on the current role of women in the IT sector. Many of the leaders in attendance hailed the initiative as “necessary” and “a catalyst for change”. <\/p>\n\n

This documentary acts as a mirror, a lever and a call to action, placing women’s voices and their power to transform at the center.<\/p>\n\n

DigiWomen plans to organize further screenings in partnership with organizations, schools and companies. Stay tuned! <\/p>\n\n

ICT Diagnosis 2025: Towards a post-digital shift<\/h2>\n\n

On April 3, DigiWomen attended the launch of TechnoComp\u00e9tences’ new ICT Sector Diagnostic for Quebec. This strategic report paints a current picture of the major transformations taking place in the world of technology work. <\/p>\n\n
